Battle of attrition: GU fell to a shock defeat to Eleven Angels PIC: GABORONE UNITED

The defeat confirmed GU's worst run of form in over a season. The Orange FA Cup defending champions return to the venue for the second time in just a week. The team has faced a sobering reality in recent weeks after falling steps back in the league championship race as yet another tough assignment awaits them tomorrow afternoon. At the start of the season, the Reds had their eyes on a local football cup double. The quest to savour at least one of those starts tomorrow against Eleven Angels. Pontsho 'Piro' Moloi is chasing his first win as GU's substantive head coach after the weekend's opponents ruined his debut. Moloi is likely to bring changes for the Orange FA Cup tie.

Veteran midfielder, Lesego Galenamotlhale could lead the side this weekend. With a number of talented fringe players at the reigning champions, Moloi could hand a few minutes. Young prospect, Gape Thibedi could make the starting list alongside attacker, Tshepo Malgas. The inclusion of a decorated midfielder in Galenamotlhale would ensure the Reds remain focused on the course. Eleven Angels will be confident but cautious against the champions. GU have proven to be a tough contender as they won the last two editions of the Orange FA Cup. 'Lekgamu La Bananyana' is boosted by their exploits in the last edition of the competition where Eleven Angels reached the last 16 while still campaigning in the First Division. The team's head coach, Seemo '16' Mpatane will look to go a step further in this year's edition.

His side has not been blessed with an abundance of talent but has proven to be a tough nut to crack. Meanwhile, some of the mouthwatering clashes include a tie between First Division South league title aspirants, Mochudi Centre Chiefs and VTM FC at the VTM Arena. Third-tier side, Super Stars United face the game of their lives against Township Rollers at the Sam Sono Stadium. Premier League leaders, Jwaneng Galaxy and FC Masterpiece are set to thrill at the Serowe Sports Complex in a typical Goliath vs David contest.

The games will start at 4pm, while only FC Masterpiece and Galaxy tie are in a later kick off at 7pm while the televised Masitaoka and Police XI at Molepolole Sports Complex will start at 3:30pm. (See Sports Index on Page... for full Orange FA Cup fixtures)
