It’s a historic victory and similarly it indicates democracy in our country. It is nice that it ended this way. In terms of what we will benefit as Balete, it will still need consultations in terms of plans. We are going to sit down and experts will have to come in and exchange ideas. Overall, we know that land is like a diamond and we can’t go wrong with it. When I was growing up just like any other Molete child, I heard that we have a farm as a tribe.

I am a prayer warrior like my name suggests. I was one of the people who prayed for this victory. This is a farm our ancestors purchased for us and even acquired a title deed. I saw the need to pray and even when we were in court I connected with the Holy Spirit and prayed to God that we emerge victorious. Now I thank the Holy Spirit for granting us this victory. From here we have to admit that our children don’t have land and allocate them plots. We have to come up with businesses that will improve the livelihoods of Balete.

Because of the blessing of God and prayers, we triumphed. In Ramotswa we prayed hard and we have so many churches here, therefore, I really got to witness the power of a prayer through this case. What has been done by Kgosi Mosadi, his uncle and the rest of the tribe has shocked all of us as a nation. I have realised that Kgosi Mosadi is a talented and blessed chief. Some have often underestimated her, but she managed to beat the odds and completed a task like this. I think that Kgosi Mosadi has documented the history of this tribe and including everything about this land, God Bless her. When we were growing up we used to walk barefooted from Ramotswa to Kopong and as we passed Boatle and Seribe all the way to Notwane this was Balete’s land. This is also a lesson for other tribes to fight for their rights. Moseka phofu ya gaabo ga a swe lentswe.

This is a farm which had created a conflict between us as Bamalete tribe. Some had politicised the issue while others were rallying behind our mother, Kgosi Mosadi. They were trying to create a mix-up in a simple issue. I am glad that Kgosi Mosadi will finally sleep in peace and think clearly knowing that this case is behind her.

We have been campaigning for support and these legal battles have cost us. Most of us as Balete youth do not know about this land and where it is located but we pass through it as we go about our daily lives. We are ignorant to participate in our own heritage therefore we need to wake up and utilise this opportunity. We should come to the Kgotla meetings and even ask Kgosi about everything.
