Notwane, City Polar clash ends in a dull draw

Many football fans had anticipated an end-to-end match with great action and some goals but the game ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw. The match presented a great opportunity for City Polar to go back to the top if they came out victorious but failed to get the much needed goals.
Notwane also had the chance to open up the gap but the two sides remain level on points. However, Notwane's assistant coach, Kanyenga Kashiwa was left elated by the point they picked. Kashiwa was standing in for head coach, Thaloba Nthaga who received a red card in the previous match. “We knew it was going to be a tough game.
City Polar has been at the top for a long time, so we came to this game with a plan that if we cannot get the maximum points, we should at least come out with a point,” said Kashiwa with a radiant smile. City Polar were the first to get a chance on the 15th minute with Thamsanqa Mokantsi pulling of a great shot inside the box but Tumiso Mashakola who is known for his prowess pulled off a fine save. Notwane also had their chance on the 24th minute with Donald Botshoma hitting a powerful shot at goal but Tshomarelo More parried the ball back into play.
The ball got in the way of Terry Mbuqe whose effort from a rebound was easily saved by More. Moments later Notwane had another chance to break the deadlock with Botshoma delivering a delightful cross inside the box which then Remmington Masuku connected with and headed it towards the goal but his effort went inches over the crossbar. Notwane started to enjoy most of the possession towards the end of the first half which, however, did not yield any goal. In the second half, the battle was concentrated more on the midfield as the two teams guarded against giving each other spaces behind. In the end, both sides came out with a point.
