According to the media statement, the triple murder suspect is a regular in the Tutume area and goes by various names such as Vincent Dube, Tapiwa, Bheki Masuku, Alias, Sitlhe and Bhuki. Tutume Police Station Commander Lesego Kgosiemang told this publication that they believed that the triple murder suspect is still lurking somewhere around the country. Therefore, he urged members of the community to always be vigilant and alert. Kgosiemang said they have since deployed a number of police officers to search for the suspected serial killer who they believed has not yet left the country. “We appreciate the general public efforts in assisting us during the continued search for the alleged triple murder suspect. We often receive reports from the public alerting us that they have seen the suspect, but some of the alerts turn out to be issues of misidentification. Please continue assisting us until the culprit is caught and taken into custody,” he added.

He further cautioned the public against sharing misleading information that the perpetrator has been arrested whilst he is still on the run. He said such information will endanger the public as they will feel safe whereas in reality they are still living with a suspected serial killer within their vicinity. The suspect serial killer has been on the loose after a series of murders that hit the area since the beginning of the year. Tutume police recorded four murder cases in January under their policing area of which three of them are linked to the suspected serial killer who is still on the run.

The first murder case happened on January 1, 2023, and the victim was a 15-year-old boy of Magapatona ward in Tutume village. The second victim was a 73-year-old man of Nshakazhogwe village who was found dead inside a pit latrine at his home on January 11 after he was reported missing. The third victim was a 73-year-old woman of Thini ward who was also reported missing, but later discovered by her son lifeless and decomposed at Thini lands on January 24. According to information gathered by the police, it was reported that some people usually hire the triple murder suspect to do menial jobs in the same village under the Tutume police jurisdiction area.
