The Kgatleng giants officially signed on the dotted line to begin a new relationship with the transport company on Friday. The sponsorship is set to run for a period of 10 years and ends in 2033.

Addressing the media on Friday, DC Tours CEO, Lapologang ‘Lepsy’ Molemele said the sponsorship is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR). “Our CSR is what brought us here today and knowing that football has large following, it was not much of a struggle for us to decide to sponsor this team which is one of the biggest,” said Molemele.

He further said they saw it fit for them to sponsor this big brand and get them back into the Premiere League. Molemele said they already have nothing but high targets for Chiefs, as in the first year of sponsorship, they would love to see Chiefs gaining promotion to the Botswana Premier League (BPL). On the second of year of the sponsorship, Molemele expects the team to at least get a silverware, and finish in the top three in the league. Then on the third year the team is expected to win everything that is up for grabs in the BPL.

From the fourth year, Molemele said they would like to see the team remaining competitive and challenging for everything in the league. Meanwhile, club chairperson, Victor Kobe said they have nothing but big plans for the club.

He also said in the next six months, they will be commercialising the club. From commercialising the club, they will also be developing their home turf, so that if they do get promotion, they can play their home games at their base in Mochudi. He also said they will forever remain grateful for what DC Tours did for the club.
