Officer Commanding No 2 District, Senior Superintendent Paul Oketsang said they received a report from the couple's neighbour.

"The couple's neighbour said she was busy removing weeds from her crops when she heard a scream from the deceased's girlfriend. She was crying and rushed to them," "The reporter said on arrival she found the deceased's girlfriend crying with her boyfriend hanging from the roof rafters and reported the matter to the police."

Oketsang added the police then rushed to the crime scene and took the deceased to Mmashoro Clinic where doctors certified him dead on arrival. He revealed that the deceased had used a rope to hang himself and did not leave a suicide note.

"Even though the girlfriend stated that they were on good terms and was shocked by his actions, investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what transpired.

I am pleading with members of the public to seek help when troubled than resorting to taking their own lives," he said.

Oketsang encouraged members of the public to always involve a third party, social workers, or even the police when troubled and respect the sanctity of life.
