Organisers of the popular cultural festival have revealed what looks like a strong line-up, which also includes local's finest Sereetsi and The Natives, Mafitlhakgosi, Lizibo, Khoisan, Ndingo Johwa, Skit Kabomo (traditional stinkane and percussion) and Western (Four String Guitar) while DJ Lefatshe, DJ Dizzy Dee and Cue will take charge of the decks.

Sydney Nzala, creative director for Beat Box Productions who are the festival organisers, said the festival returns bigger and better than ever before. In an interview with Showtime Monitor, Nzala said they have partnered with Bana ba Mmala Trust to produce the event for the next three years. He also explained that SOTS was not just a music festival but a full traditional cultural experience.

“There will be traditional games, poetry and choir competitions during the day. SOTS rotates venues every year to celebrate different cultures. This year we will be in Boatle with Balete to enjoy the culture. This event is in its 18th year and we are here to stay,” he said. Nzala further explained that there was huge excitement about the return of the event from culture enthusiasts and lovers of good music.

He added that they developed a feature called Setso Fridays where they requested SOTS patrons to send pictures with their friends dressed in traditional attire to stand a chance to win tickets and was so far doing very well.

“Cooler boxes are allowed at P50 throughout the event. We encourage people to wear strictly traditional attire. The security will be very tight,” he said. Tickets are sold for P200 early bird and P250 second phase while entrance fee for children under 12 years of age is P75.
