This year’s Big Brother Titans hosted some of the top local media personalities from radio, newspapers and some influencers.

Big Brother Titans is a joint series by the South African and Nigerian edition of the Big Brother franchise. The show features housemates from South Africa and Nigeria.

The series follows contestants as they live in an isolated house and compete for a cash prize at the end of the show. Contestants play the game strategically with the aim of warming their way into the hearts of viewers with the hope that when the time comes for voting, they will vote to keep them in the house. The show hosts an eviction show every Sunday and at least one housemate with the lowest number of votes from viewers is evicted from the house.

The first season of the show premiered on the 15th of January 2023 on DStv's channel 161 (Mzansi Magic). Viewers can now watch their favourite housemates 24/7 on DStv's channel 198.

Giving a taste of the new season, MultiChoice Botswana hosted media personalities to a day full of fun activities for the ultimate Botswana Media Titan.

At the venue Big Brother told the contestants that they had been chosen, because they are the best in their field. The contestants were given different tasks for the ultimate prize.

In the end, it was Botswana Gazette journalist, Gosego Motsumi who emerged the winner at the Media Titan.

Speaking on the media challenge, MultiChoice Botswana Corporate Affairs manager, Thembile Legwaila acknowledged that the Big Brother franchise has proven popular over the years and that its followers had been waiting for its return to the screen.

“We simply wanted to bring the media together, because we haven’t really been together since the pandemic, but we also wanted the media to experience first hand how the big brother challenge works. That is why we replicated some of the activities from the house for the Media Titans challenge,” Legwaila said.

Meanwhile Legwaila revealed revealed that two Batswana have been commissioned for shows on DStv. The first show is a cooking show called My Botswana Plate, which will premier, February 11th on DStv's channel 173.

The new cooking entertainment show will be hosted by Motswana foodie and cook, Rachel Tlagae also known as Chef Rachel. Rachel was the chef for the night at the weekend’s media challenge.
