The event will be held under the theme 'Silky Summer'. The event's organiser, Neelo Lentebanye said as a way of empowering other designers, Ntseme has also collaborated with five designers who each will also be creating five designs specifically to be showcased during the show.

Lentebanye, who is an art curator and marketer, said the show will also encompass other artistic lines such as fine art, music and models. “The show features 20 young models of all sizes, musicians, as well as display of artworks from local fine artists,” Lentebanye explained.

Lentebanye said despite Ntseme being new to the industry, he has demonstrated serious commitment and passion in his work and what he wants to achieve. “He self funds everything from his commissioned designs and thus preaches the importance of using the little you have to follow your dreams,” he added. Ntseme is a marketing manager, and a self-taught fashion designer.

His desire to be a scholarly artist began at the University of Botswana where he studied for an undergraduate Degree in Bachelor of Theatre, and later furthered his studies in Florida State University, USA, completing a Masters degree in Fine Arts - Marketing & Communications. Although he is a newly taught designer, Ntseme has already done one fashion show last year which created a buzz.

The whole idea of him creating a culture of fashion shows apart from just designing is to recognise and uplift other artists as he is also a musician. “Collaboration is at the centre of his work and he has created an online store called The Pants Corner where all the designs from the show will be sold.

The mission is to showcase and promote local designers with the aim to expose their talent to Botswana and the world beyond,” added Lentebanye. It is said that after spending a few years in the USA, Ntseme returned home in 2021. Upon return, he began his self-taught fashion journey and decided to host a show to showcase his clothing line.

The Silky Summer show will be a follow up of a winter show he did last year July. According to Lentebanye, Ntseme is pushing for creativity and themed shows according to seasons like it is done in the international market.
