His chase for the big prize has been like a hunt for the Holy Grail. The 29-year-old burst on to the scene with Sankoyo Bush Bucks after a stint with ECCO City Greens where he was a fringe player.

The Orapa United marksman’s moment to step in to the spotlight was with Sankoyo Bush Bucks. The bulky forward enjoyed his first season with the club in the top flight and his goal-scoring exploits got him into the Zebras setup for the first time.

A move to South Africa followed in the 2015-2016 season when he joined Vasco Da Gama. ‘Dunga’ as he is affectionately called, managed to score two goals in 17 appearances. He returned home and joined Orapa United in 2016. It was a good start to his Ostriches career but in the past three seasons, the striker has been out of form with recurring injuries hampering his progress.

The striker has now found his goal scoring touch and is currently leading the top goal scoring charts with 10 goals after 11 rounds of league games played. Kebatho has maintained a 100% goal scoring rate as he has featured in 10 games thus far. He only missed the Jwaneng Galaxy tie due to school commitments.

The striker’s goal scoring form this campaign is the most impressive as he looks on course to break the league’s goal scoring record. Zimbabwean, Terrence Mandaza holds the record with 31 goals scored in 2009-2010 season. Kebatho is 21 goals shy off the record with 19 games to be played and he should be feeling very confident.

Namibia's Jwaneng Galaxy forward, Wendell Rudath is in second place with seven goals. In his debut season, Rudath showed glimpses of a deadly striker as he finished with 17 goals.

He is expected to give Kebatho his run for money for the golden boot accolade. Lemogang Msweana is third with six goals while Township Rollers’ Mogakolodi Ngele is level with Onkabetse Makgantai with five goals apiece.
