For Amapiano fanatics, the name of the music festival might be familiar as it is the title that was used by the award winning artist for his second 18-song album released last year.

Motlatsi Phuthego, who is the director of All You Need Is Piano and a partner at Evolve Studios, says they would like to use the event to change the lives of lucky upcoming artists.

Phuthego explained that five upcoming artists will be given the lifetime opportunity to perform at the event as he has realised that many upcoming artists are always overlooked for bookings at big events.

Phuthego said all upcoming artists who are interested to perform at the event shall send their work or portfolios to Evolve Studios where they will be evaluated and the best five will be picked among them.

Furthermore, Phuthego said some of the funds from the festival will be used to expand the studio, and put the studio in a position to be able to absorb artists and take them under their wing to nurture, and harness their careers as musical artists. Phuthego said Evolve Studios has gone into partnership with Mr JazziQ, which will allow them to closely work with Black Is Brown, which is a record label owned by Mr JazziQ, “We will be working with Black Is Brown to grow artists here in Botswana, and secure them gigs in South Africa,” he said.

All You Need Is Piano has thus far only confirmed Mr JazziQ as the performing artist for the event, and Hey Nyeeenah as the MC while more artists will be revealed in the near future. Phuthego said he wants to keep Batswana on their toes and guessing who will be confirmed next. The event has created some spark on social media since it was revealed as its date clashes with that of another big event, Soul Fill Up with Franco. Some fans have called on the organisers to reconsider the date for the music festival.

However, they said they do not plan on changing the date for the event as it has been long since they have been postponing it, as he says they had initially planned to host the event last year November but they reconsidered looking at how November was flocked with musical events. The tickets for the event will be selling at P150 for early bird, P200 for standard, P300 for golden circle, and P1,500 for VIP.
