Despite the win, Notwane coach, Thaloba Nthaga was not impressed with the overall manner in which his charges went about their business. Nthaga felt his boys were not clinical in front of goal as several gilt edged chances went begging.

“With football you need to be clinical and this is where my boys are lacking as we could have finished this game in the first half. We had many chances that could have put the game to rest,” he said.

“And this really made things tough for us as towards the end, it was a bit intense as Broadhurst came to us looking for an equaliser,” Nthaga added. But the coach said he was happy that at least his team was creating the chances and that they managed to collect maximum points to keep up the title charge. The win moved Notwane to position four and Nthaga believes his side can gain promotion at the end of the season. Broadhurst on the other hand, did not have a good day in office as they had a tough time trying to contain Notwane the entire 90minutes. After early misses, Notwane broke the deadlock courtesy of Remmington Masuku after an in swinger was delivered into the box and the striker nodded home in the 38th minute. After going ahead, Notwane continued with its high line press game as they wanted to put the match to rest but poor decisions cost them in the final third. The two sides went to the half time break with Notwane leading 1-0.

Notwane picked pieces up from where they had left in the first half, launching countless attacks on the Broadhurst goal. The home team fashioned a chance late in the second half but Notwane goalkeeper, Tumiso Mashakola denied Thapelo Bunu. Moments after Broadhurst nearly found the equaliser, Notwane could have doubled their lead but the crossbar came to the rescue after keeper, Mosimanewapula Gabanangaka got fingertips on the ball from Kgotla Dikomang’s header.

Substitute, Malvern Moyo provided the assurance goal after Notwane broke on the attack leaving Gabanangaka up against three attacking players. Moyo did not miss the chance to put the game to rest as he slotted into the top corner.
