New Year, New Beginnings

All of us have over the years heard about new resolutions, and how some people complain that they never accomplish much in their New Year resolution list. Well, that may be the case, but it shouldn’t take away your dreams, because we all have to set goals, but they have to be realistic.

Most of us become overwhelmed and quit along the way because we set unrealistic goals and come up with a list longer than the A1 road. We all crave growth in our endeavors, no one wants to remain stagnant for the rest of their lives, but for one to develop and grow as an a person, there is need for serious introspection.

Failure is not something that is reserved for certain people and not others, we all have our shortfalls here and there. But the most important ingredient is treating these shortfalls and failures as lessons. Self-development is not something that happens by chance, but rather a process that an individual has to commit to and take a conscious decision that they want to better their lives. It is a lifelong process, and what better time to start the process than the beginning of the year.

It is indeed easier to set goals at the start of the year, and set timeline for each of the goals, so that it is easier for one to assess their success rate, and interrogate why some of the goals did not go according to plan.

While this particular holiday comes with a lot of festivities, the expectation is that most people return to their respective jobs/businesses re-invigorated and ready to take the world on. Each and every one of us has to take responsibility for becoming good citizens and contributing meaningfully to the success of our beautiful country. We often read reports by independent international organisations on productivity levels in our country, and we as Batswana have bitterly complained about the levels being too low.

It is very important for us to know that it starts with each and everyone of us for us to imrove. Many still complain about poor service at some of the government facilities, but with commitment to good conditions of service by government and business owners, and also from employees, we can take our country to greater heights. Lets all take this opportunity to renew ourselves, change our mindset, and start working towards becoming better people than we were last year. Lets all adopt a motto of always thriving to make an improvement in our lives on a daily basis. To our valued customers, we look forward to a beautiful journey together in the New Year. Happy New Year!
