According to Serojane, they have recorded nine cases of common assault, 12 cases of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two rape cases, three affray cases, one obtaining by false pretence case, three threat to kill cases, and three defilement cases.

“Gender-based violence is a concern since lovers are fighting over small issues. We urge people to seek counselling or advice from others whenever they have a dispute. As for rape cases, we are worried by ex-boyfriends who always rape their ex-girlfriends whenever they see them. The other issue that is of concern is obtaining by false pretence. We are requesting residents of Palapye to be careful with some crimunals who claim to be police officers. They usually claim to have picked up a huge sum of money and offer to share it with the unsuspecting target. That individual will then ask that the money be shared in the target's car and immediately others will arrive and claim that they are cops and demand your bank cards, identity number and bank pin and that is how they will make away with someone's money,” Serojane said in an interview today.
