The nine women were treated for shock at Sekgoma Memorial Hospital after some people lost patience and started pushing each other to enter the stadium.

By 6pm the Serowe main road was at a standstill as music lovers thronged the venue, causing uncontrollable traffic. Getting inside the venue was another challenge after tags ran out causing a stampede by the stadium entrance.

This was confirmed by the Officer Commanding District Number 2, Senior Superintendent, Paul Oketsaang. He said: “People became impatient when they were being assisted to get into the stadium. The turn up was very high and unfortunately, the crowd started to push each other. There was only one entrance to the stadium. No fatalties were recorded. We have two cases of assault common where two people were slapped by a person they did not know. No one has been arrested in connection with the matter.” Still at the stadium, police arrested one male for the charge of stealing from a person. It is alleged that the suspect stole two cellular phones, which have not been recovered as yet.

Meanwhile the music continued despite a lot of challenges. The first main act , South African rapper KO took to stage around midnight and he was the first to really set the festival mood.

His performance was followed by Master KG and Nkosesana’s daughter. The duo took their performance to the next level almost causing another stampede as their fans wrestled and pushed to get closer to the stage.

The highlight of the night came from yet another electrifying performance by ATI, one of the local artists who was born and raised in Serowe, as the title of the show suggests.

ATI who started his performance with his trademark mid-air stunts had music lovers singing along to his every lyric at the break of dawn.

He was followed by Vee Mampeezy and Franco to close off the BnR event.
