This week, the BDP welcomed members from Gudigwa and Etsha villages. According to BDP secretary general, Kavis Kario, this is part of the party's strategy to revive the structures and ensure that they work. “As you may know, our party is going to its primary elections next year.

Therefore all its structures must be active. There is no party that can go to primaries or win elections if its structuresit have collapsed. Yes, our target is to win all constituencies that are held by the opposition and also retain those which we have. We have welcomed over 100 members in the two constituencies,” Kario said in an interview today. He further stressed that the party President, Mokgweetsi Masisi, has urged members to campaign more so that they can increase the popolar vote to 70 percent or even more.

Kario said the new members are from opposition parties especially the Botswana Congress Party (BCP).
