Girls continue outperforms boys in PSLE

The results come after BEC announced that it will release the results towards the end of the fourth week of December 2022.
According to the media statement, this years’ PSLE examinations saw 25, 084 girls sitting for final examinations, and 24 249 boys, bringing the total number to 49 333, and this marked an increase of 5% in the candidature as communicated by BEC.
In addition the statement further revealed that BEC recorded a slight increase in the overall performance of candidates garnering grade E or better as it went from 99.85% to 99.88%. However for the candidates who garnered grade C or better, BEC recorded a decline in the percentage of such candidates as it went down by 1.52% from 72.01% to 70.49% in the 2022 PSLE results.
The total number of students who got Grade A stands at 9 084, and this equates to 18.41% of the overall PSLE results, whereas the candidates who got Grade B in the results are 8 842, and this number is 17.92% of the overall results. For Grade C, their number stands at 16 850, making it 34.16%, and candidates who got grade D's number stands at 10 318, bringing the percentage to 20.92%. And those who got Grade E are 4 181, which equates to 8.48%. For those that got Grade U and X their numbers stand at 35, and 23 respectively which brings the total percentage number to 0.07% and 0.04% in that order .
