Letlhakane Police Station commander, Superintendent Michael Maphephu said they have arrested the suspect, a man of Sekwe ward in Letlhakane village, in connection to the murder.

He said the suspect allegedly stabbed the man with a sharp instrument leading to his death. Maphephu stated that the suspect was arrested on the same day after committing the crime. “The murder incident took place on Saturday night. The suspect went to the deceased's place and accused his family of knowing what killed his mother,” said the Letlhakane police boss.

He further shared that after throwing the accusations at the deceased's family, they ignored the suspect and then he left. He added that the suspect later returned and picked a fight with everyone in the yard.

He ended up stabbing the deceased person. Maphephu indicated that the suspect is still in police custody and will appear before the Letlhakane Magistrate's Court today (Monday). In another incident, he said that they are investigating a case in which a 25-year-old man is admitted at Letlhakane Primary Hospital after sustaining severe stab wounds.

The Letlhakane police chief said a 22-year-old man from the same village has been arrested in connection with the unlawful wounding and is awaiting an appearance in court.
