All the contestants came fully prepared for the event making the judges’ job very difficult.

Many of the young girls proved to be the future Miss Botswana queens and beyond as they outdid themselves and put all their energy and heart into the pageantry. The pageantry was divided into three categories namely; Mini Global, Little Global and Teen Global.

In the Mini category, Aobakwe Mosinyi scooped the title and walked away with a trophy, tiara and other presents after outshining fellow contestants. The seven-year-old girl from Mahalapye indeed deserved the crown as she oozed with confidence and her walk and attire were magnificent. Motheo Rankanyane and Jessica Mooke walked away with the first and second princesses titles respectively.

On the Little Global category, Cherise Chulu was crowned queen after beating the other beauties with brains. She was one of the audience’s favourites. The 10-year-old, who aspires to be the voice for other children, her strong yet bubbly personality and confidence could not go unnoticed. Her gold lacy dress was also breathtaking. She told the judges that her mother was her role model because she was her pillar of strength. She said her mother groomed her well and taught her to be condiment in her own skin.

Her runner up was Thabelo Ramalefane and Lisa Batshwareng who scooped the first and second princesses titles consecutively. For the Teen Global category, Lorraine Kgamaetsile surprised the audience after she won the crown.

The young girl said she advocates women and a girl child’s empowerment. She also stated that if she won the crown, she would build a society for teenagers in Mogoditshane where she was currently residing as she noticed that many of them had given up hope in life and resorted to social ills such as crime and alcohol abuse.

She explained that through her reign she was going to ensure fellow teen girls get back their confidence. Mbali Ngebani and Mpho Smith who also did very well in the competition won the first and second princesses titles consecutively. The duo also displayed a very breathtaking competition as their presence on the ramp could not be ignored. Most of the girls’ evening dresses were stunning. For many of those girls being their first beauty pageant, they oozed with confidence and their aura just painted the room with happiness. The winners will take part at the international pageantry in Malaysia in February. Amacrees and Scouts entertained the audience.
