Oupa Kowa, Rapelang Tsatsilebe, Rahman Gumbo and Daniel Nare have already been fired by their respective clubs with the season now nearing the end of its first quarter.

It all started when Peleng giants, Extension Gunners showed Kowa the door before he could even sit on the bench in an official match for the club early this season. Kowa was reportedly fired after being caught in the club’s dispute with the Botswana Football Association (BFA). The club felt that Kowa had travelled with the national team without formally engaging the club first.

He was later relieved of his duties with Phenyo Mogala remaining as the caretaker coach until Phillimon Makwengwe replaced him three weeks back. Morupule Wanderers followed suit and relieved Nare of his duties after a string of poor results with former Jwaneng Galaxy head coach, Boyo Radipotsane set to replace him in Palapye.

Wanderers are currently sitting dangerously at position 13 on the log with five points from seven matches. Sua Flamingoes, who had a brilliant campaign in their maiden appearance in the elite league last season, surprisingly also fired head coach, Gumbo a few weeks back after struggling in the first six matches of this season. Gumbo was instrumental in building a solid Flamingoes side last season that managed to stand for itself against experienced sides.

However, the experienced Zimbabwean gaffer this season struggled with his side in the first few matches, leading to his sacking. Flamingoes are reportedly set to announce Serbian mentor, Nikola Kavazovic as Gumbo’s replacement. The former Township Rollers coach was at the stands when Sua Flamingoes defeated Holy Ghost last weekend.

The game also resulted in the sacking of Tsatsilebe and his technical team at Holy Ghost. Tsatsilebe was roped in at the beginning of the season but only managed to lead the side for only seven matches in which he only managed to collect two points.

The three other clubs then also followed suit and relieved their coaches of their duties with Holy Ghost being the latest to do so.

The loss from last weekend when Holy Ghost lost against Sua Flamingoes by two goals to nil seemed to be the last straw for coach Rapelang Tsatsilebe as he got fired.

The loss against Flamingoes meant it was the fifth loss of the club under the reign of coach Tsatsilebe who took over the club after it got promoted. Tsatsilebe was shown the exit door together with his other technical staff, Kentse Motlhale, who was the assistant coach and Pullen Busang, who was the goalkeeper coach. And now the club sits at the bottom of the league after seven matches played in the season already and they have not had the start to the Premier League they have had in mind after playing to a draw with Jwaneng Galaxy on their first game of the season.
