Gospel lovers dance the night away

Even though the show started later than expected and was a bit disorganised, revellers who decided to wait for the show seemed not to regret their decision as they danced the night away when artists spoiled them with endless beautiful rhythms.
Both the artists and revelers were dressed to kill.
They also showed off their dancing skills and enjoyed the African gospel music. Each artist was given a chance to perform two songs. Amongst the beautiful performances of the night were those of Benjamin Moopelwa from South Africa, Pasela from Botswana, Agnes Ntsweja, Kgosi, Barati, Felicia Mooketsa, Malebogo Sampisi and Dr Morake Makhudu, who is also the founder of Unity of Gospel Artists Company.
Unity of Gospel Artists Company promotes artists from different countries in Southern Africa like Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
According to the company’s founder Makhudu, it was established on August 2013. The event comprises of their members who are businessmen and women in Unity of Gospel Artists called UGA Baipereki Lefatsheng.
He further explained that they would benefit, inspire and empower the businessmen and women in Botswana and also to donate to those who were coming from disadvantaged families.
He added that their biggest dream was to help those who want to start small business enterprises. Makhudu also said he was inspired to host the event in Botswana because Batswana had been fully supporting them since 2005. He said they aimed at eradicate poverty and reduce unemployment by sponsoring small businesses.
He added that their target was to help unemployed people and artists who wanted to go far in music. Speaking about challenges, he said artists from every country want to be on their poster and be part of the event so they end up having a long line-up.
He added that the other biggest challenge they face is that as a non-profit company.
They rely on donations, sponsorships, businessmen and women for their upkeep. Makhudu further explained that yearly, they would be rotating the event in different countries and therefore will surely come back to Botswana to host bigger events and probably reach their dream to fill up the stadiums in the country.
