The event, which was organised by Alliance Francaise de Gaborone, was a family affair as quite a number of people came with their children.
The music festival, which started in the late afternoon, had a number of performances and Mogwana Traditional Group thrilled the audience with their dance moves. They were followed by a local hip-hop artist by the name Apollo Diablo, who also gave a good, interactive performance, challenging the audience to say a few words during his performance. Unlike Mogwana, who performed for quite some time, Diablo only performed a few songs. The crowd however seemed to have enjoyed his offering. The start of the festival was however slow, in the afternoon, but picked up momentum in the evening when the show moved to the inside stage. The show saw quite a number of performances including Punah Gabasiane, Skinflint, Nosey Road, Olebile 'Maxy' Sedumedi, just to mention a few.
Fete de la Musique, is an annual free music festival, which originates from France, and it is the brainchild of Maurice Fleuret. The free music festival was launched in France in 1982, and it has since been exported to other countries globally.
