The incident happened on Friday evening at the police camp in Mogoditshane. This incident was confirmed by the Botswana Police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Dipheko Motube in a telephonic interview.

Motube, who was constrained to share further details said: “I can confirm the incident occurred at our police camp in Mogoditshane where a 46-year-old Botswana police sub-inspector on Friday night shot at his 39-year-old wife with a service rifle.

He, later on, turned the gun on himself.” According to Motube, the man shot at his wife after a spat. Efforts to reach the family proved futile at press time.
