MP raises inconsistencies in Three Chiefs history

The MP wants the ministry to articulate to Batswana and in Parliament "the actual events leading to the three chiefs' visit to Britain as there seems to be confusion between the history curriculum offered in schools and what transpired".

Healy further demands answers from government on “whether it has been passed over time that the chiefs went to seek protection yet history, on the other hand, suggests it was to prevent strong-arm tactics by British South African company” against Bechuanaland.

The MP further questions what is government doing to harmonise this history and if the true version is being taught in schools. His question further reads: “Is the history taught in schools being revamped to expand more on local history than foreign history?”

The answers to Healy’s questions are expected to be deliberated this next week.
