Bale continues honouring mother through art exhibition

Bale, who is on an exhibition tour with his Isabel Experience Exhibition around the country, will be in Gantsi tomorrow.
The series began in Maun at The Duck Cafe then later moved to Kasane at The Coffee Buzz. In an interview with Arts & Culture, Bale said the last lap of the exhibition will return to Gaborone.
He explained that this time around he will be showcasing new art pieces that will also be on sale. He explained that during the session, he had one particular painting dedicated to his mom and everyone at the studio dialogue was so intrigued by it and therefore it was getting all the attention. “I had to make 10 more as a continuation of the Isabel story line.
The inspiration for me always comes from what I am feeling deep inside but this one was fueled by the 20 attendees for my open studio dialogue session who were able to relate and have a connection with the art piece I made for my mother,” said Bale. “Since she died while I was young, I would not say much from what I have seen myself but rather what I heard.
My mother was an inspiring soul, always there for who came to her for help. She was compassionate, understanding, family oriented and a career driven lady. Her strength was she was a quick learner and adaptable to work in any environment. Always focused and her weakness was that she had a tendency of taking things personal,” he explained.
Furthermore, Bale explained that the exhibition was so important to him because it was about the loss of someone he dearly loved and wished she were there to witness his talent and growth in the arts industry.
He also added that the exhibition also made him tap into his deep feelings that made him realise that some things were beyond his control. He also pointed out that his biggest challenge arranging the exhibition was the fact that he had to open up and explore feelings of something he had been trying so hard to go back to. “I would like to extend my gratitude to the everyone supporting me from my hosts to the art lovers, friends and family. It has been a very productive year considering the growth in my craft. I found my purpose in art.
Last week I was helping raise eye test and cancer awareness in an exhibition in Art Case Gallery and I obtained position three. This is all what my art is about, expressing myself about situations our society does not bring forward in our daily dialogue. For someone who started painting during lockdown, I believe I am on the right path to being one of the greatest in the game,” he said.
Moreover, he explained that it was not easy pulling that off without any sponsors, but his burning desire could not let him sleep. He explained that one way or the other, he had to make that tour happen. He pointed out that one other challenge he had was to create 20 art pieces for each town he was touring. He added that sometimes creativity blockage would strive for days and fatigue started kicking in from sleepless nights and restless days of creating.
