Police warn, worry over home invasion robberies

The concern follows an incident in which a woman was attacked and robbed in Tsholofelo East when arriving home on Saturday towards midnight. Broadhurst Police Station Commander, Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae told The Monitor, there is a gang of about five to six young men terrorising residents of Tsholofelo East and Phakalane respectively. Lokae said the gang usually uses either a Honda Fit or Madza Demio as getaway cars. “They attack people at night when they attempt to open the gate, smash their car windows and threaten them with offensive weapons demanding money, mobile phones and other valuables. Cases of this nature are overwhelming. I am pleading with residents of Phakalane and Tsholofelo East to be on the lookout,” Lokae said.
