DJ Ngwazi dominates BOMU awards nominations

The Uthando hitmaker was nominated for the awards in seven categories during the nominees announcement launch party held Tuesday evening at Elements Restaurant.

DJ Ngwazi has been nominated for Best Dance Music alongside DJ KSB, De General and DJ X. He has also been nominated for the Album of the Year, Best Newcomer, Best Male, Best Video for his song Uthando, Best Collaboration as well as Song of the Year Award.

Following the announcement of the nominations, DJ Ngwazi told Arts & Culture it is through hard work and God's grace that he got nominated. "Yeah, I'm so happy and emotional. It's God's grace and the hard work I have been putting in.

I expected it because I have been working hard and have the biggest music out there in the streets, at clubs and beyond my country," DJ Ngwazi said. He said this year's awards have shown tremendous growth from the previous years. "I saw them last year and I was happy how everything is being run. I wanna win all the awards because I feel I deserve them.

I will push hard for my supporters to vote for me," he added. Born Lushen Kebatlege, DJ Ngwazi has determinedly worked himself into the position of not just being a DJ for South Africa’s most popular music artist, Master KG, but he is one of the biggest players in the country. From playing at bars in Thamaga, to touring the world with Master KG, DJ Ngwazi has an amazing story. He is playing to capacity crowds at enormous venues. He is deejaying everywhere from Southern to West Africa.

The artist from Thamaga recently hosted his homecoming concert, Kumnandi Ekhaya Music Fest in his native village. His career path has been on an upward tide. His song, Uthando featuring Master KG has been a hit among the local fans. He also released another song on the eve of his festival titled Ngisize Nami. He has also worked with Vee Mampeezy on another song called Moya.
