The event, in which the group celebrated its 23 years anniversary, turned out to be a flop after only a handful of revellers attended it.

Vee Mampeezy was among the artists that were scheduled to perform at the event but was nowhere to be found at the venue and reports were that he was in Gantsi promoting his upcoming event.

Speaking to Showbiz today, Eskimos group leader, Mandla Mokwena said they feel betrayed by the 'Taku Taku' hit maker after supporting him for many years. “If I can just be honest with you, I really do feel that Vee Mampeezy sabotaged us intentionally from the get go when we started to advertise our show,” Mokwena said. Mokwena said when they approached Vee Mampeezy about their anniversary celebrations, he promised that he will be there to support them but asked to be paid for his performance.

He also said they did not have a problem with that (paying him). "But our agreement changed when he included us in his “Last Man Standing” show as he then contacted us and told us that he will include Eskimos on the acts for his show and that he will perform at our event for free. We would also be performing at his Last Man Standing show for free.

That was the agreement we had with him,” Mokwena added. Mokwena also said they really do feel betrayed by what Vee Mampeezy did to them as they have been supporting him for a while now. “We have supported Vee Mampeezy many times at his shows from his campaigns, launch of his albums even there at Molapo we supported him, and when its only this time we ask him to support us he does not do that,” he said.

The Eskimos group leader said they started off preparations for the anniversary after Vee Mampeezy ditched his initial one man show that was scheduled for September 29.

He said they felt that was when Vee Mampeezy started sabotaging them as he went onto steal their idea by organising a Last Man Standing event featuring many local artists. Efforts to get Vee Mampeezy's comment on the allegations proved futile as his mobile phone rang unanswered.
