BDPs reclaiming Shoma event was postponed due to bad weather

The event which was supposed to welcome Shoshong legislator, Aubrey Lesaso into the BDP fold was postponed after the rain and windy weather disrupted and caused immense damage to the already set venue which included marquees.

Lesaso dumped the Umbrella for Democratic Change for the BDP last year and had never been officially welcomed despite being appointed as Assistant Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology.

Speaking to The Monitor, the BDP spokesperson Kagelelo Kentse revealed that Masisi was available for the event and the reports that he was not are not true. Masisi recently attended the inauguration of the Kingdom of Lesotho’s Prime Minister Sam Matekane. “This was postponed due to bad weather.

Remember the First Lady Neo Masisi was also supposed to host a walk in Mahalapye but the event was disrupted by bad weather as well.

The First Lady was later on that day supposed to join us at the launch,” Kentse said.

He added they have incurred huge costs as a result of the postponed event. “It is a serious inconvenience. From hiring the equipment to the accommodation which was booked, we incurred costs.

Also, this was a drawback for our fellow democrats who had arrived the day before and some who were already on their way to Shoshong,” he said. Kentse also indicated that they haven’t decided on a new date for the launch, adding an update will follow.
