The trio, Tshenolo Mosimane, Kay Mokaleng and Motheo Rabasha had a lot on their plate and had to deliver a performance close to the ever impressive MTN Joyous Celebration.

The night of music and song took place this past Saturday at the UB Indoor Sports Arena through a collaboration between local sound company, Braveheart and the South African gospel group.

As is the norm, the full band opened the show with a three hour set belting out their all time hit especially from their latest offering Joyous celebration 26 dubbed ‘Joy’. Gospel fanatics, both the old and the young, who thronged the venue, could hardly sit down as hit after hit, the energetic and brilliance choreography from the South African group reminded the room why they have maintained dominance over the years, becoming a household name even beyond borders.

At the end of the show, local gospel artists starting with 20-year old Rabasha had their moment to shine. The choir, who backed local stars, also played its part in ensuring that the locals do not fall short.

Rabasha, who started off rather shy, seemed to get comfortable on stage by the third song. Mokaleng, who was the only female in the local line-up, brought in her praise and worship touch to the line up much to the appreciation of the crowd.

Closing off the local set was Mosimane who also did not disappoint. Mosimane, who has worked with MTN Joyous Celebration in the past, showed a lot of maturity on stage, almost as if he was part of the ensemble.

Mosimane with his melodic voice, famous for his ability to swiftly change melodies, left the room begging for more when he left the stage. Notably, another highlight of night came when the choir master, Lindilane Mkhize introduced young boy Amantsi to give a moment to shine.

The youngster was given the opportunity to conduct alongside Mkhize leaving the attendants in awe of the young talent. Indeed like Mkhize said, he will be leaving a legacy through the young and impressionable Amantsi who is said to be a huge fan of Joyous Celebration.

As is the norm, the life changing concert lived to expectation with their production and overall show management. The organisers have since revealed that they sold 4,560 tickets for the concert.
