The occasion, which promises to be one of the biggest music festivals headlined by Grammy award winner, Black Coffee, is billed for the Royal Aria Stadium in Tlokweng on November 12.

Speaking during the press conference Tuesday, one of the organisers, Tsamao Salepitso said they opted to use the tagline Black Coffee in Botswana as part of giving the event a global appeal and exposing the country. “The reason why we said Black Coffee in Botswana instead of Kulture is because we wanted to link Botswana with the brand Black Coffee.

If you know Black Coffee, you will know that he runs the European market and you can imagine what that can do to our tourism sector. We just wanna put the name Botswana next to Black Coffee.

Hopefully, with people seeing Botswana as the place to be, including international artists,” said Salepitso. And for that to happen, he urged Batswana to go in large numbers to the stadium to make it a memorable event. Moreover, he revealed that they are engaged with Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) about them being part of this event. “We are engaged in negotiations with BTO and have extended an invitation for them to take advantage of this event. They are currently busy with the summit but we will communicate once we have finalised everything,” he added.

The organisers have also appealed for more sponsorship to come on board and be part of the event. The organisers said although they have announced sponsorship deals with other brands, it is never enough especially when you host such a massive event.

He alluded that more sponsorships are needed to cover other logistical aspects of the show. Some of the sponsors that have come on board include Savannah, Heinsite Construction, Motiv8, Coca-Cola, Peermont Hotels Casino resorts, which have pledged to accommodate all acts booked to perform at the event. Meanwhile, with just three weeks to go, the organisers also revealed the final list of acts booked to share the stage with the global superstar. They include legendary South African DJs/producers, Bekzin Terris and DJ Kent.

The Afro Tech house lovers will further be pleased to know that local producer and DJ, Benny T will also be on the line-up together with Mpho Sebina, Han C, Dato Seiko, Casper The DJ and Romeo.
