Morupisi is the latest big fish to enter the dogfight which involves multiple key BPF members among them suspended president Biggie Butale, acting president Caroline Lesang, former Palapye legislator Master Goya, and Samson Moyo Guma.

Morupisi is now the chairperson of the Patriots Action Group (PAG) which was formed against the backdrop of their lack of confidence in the national executive committee (NEC).

The Morupisi-led PAG feels that the current NEC is unable to "unite and preside effectively over party activities.” Morupisi who joined the yellow party sometime in December 2020 has in a statement released today revealed that they will launch their action programme on Saturday in Palapye. "The PAG, which announced its formation through its statement on October 19, 2022, by stating its lack of confidence in the NEC and inability to unite and preside effectively over party activities, wishes to inform all patriots that it will launch its program of action in Palapye on Saturday, October 29, 2022."

“Recognising that the BPF as a political party and a movement, was formed to rescue Botswana and Batswana from the ravages of corruption, lawlessness human rights abuses and the overall destruction of our admired democracy, now being poorly-led into widespread suffering and suppression under the BDP, and guided by our motivation to bring about people-centred politics, we now, therefore, as concerned members of the BPF which include representatives of MPs, councillors, structures and other members have found it necessary for the purpose of saving the party from those NEC members from further destabilising it, to form themselves into the Patriots Action Group represented by its Action Committee,” PAG outlined in their statement when they launched the concerned group.

PAG indicated then that they had realised in recent times that some members of the NEC have placed self-interest before that of the party and the nation. They said the NEC had engaged in divisive and unconstitutional actions that have given rise to instability, thus threatening the objectiveness of the party.
