Home trained uber cook, Dobla (as he’s affectionately known by GC massive), started his outdoor catering business with his partner turned wifey, around 7 years ago after leaving his fulltime employment to pursue personal development.

Wooten Dale Catering came about as a result of deep introspection, an inspiration and motivation to keep evolving with the times. The menu is designed so as to cater for everyone and switches up almost daily.

Some meals have starches and some are more plant based with options of meat (I found this very appealing). This direction is highly welcomed by the general public as health care is on the up and up.

It is not only important, but more and more individuals are intentional about maintaining healthy lifestyles or at least trying). We grow up knowing that eating veggies is good for us, but a lot of us forget along the way.

A diet rich in vegetables and fruits can lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, prevent prevalence of myriad non communicable diseases, as well as lowering risk of eye and digestive problems, and have a positive effect upon blood sugar, which can help keep appetite in check. When food is cooked with love I wouldn't say you taste it, but rather, you feel it.

With every bite I felt oddly safe and warm.

My meal was Chicken Strips with a Leafy Fresh Green Salad, Butternut, Beetroot and Baked Potato Wedges. By the time I received my meal and got around to making some time for it as I pushed one last email out, I must admit I was quite hungry... (hangry almost)..lol. (Hangry is a combination of hungry and angry for those that don’t know).

I opened the neatly secured packaging and was welcomed by a colourful, inviting meal. The wedges were incredibly big, long, yet they were beautifully cooked. There’s nothing like raw potatoes to cause one a little distress.

The potatoes were spiced really well, I quite enjoyed them and quickly had to caution myself to try other elements of the dish. I proceeded to do just that, before building tiers on my fork for every mouth full because the meal just draws you in ka monate...IJO! What I did wish I had more of is the butternut.

Just like the potatoes, I did damage to it at the start of the meal and by the time I got to build the tiers, I was soon short of a beautiful, caramelised deep orange pumpkin.

In general, chicken strips can be dry due to the cut of meat used, and also their size needs for one to expose them to heat for a short bout of time. These strips however, were seasoned very well, soft and friend in with green pepper and onions, simply divine. The green salad I ate last, and used it as a palate cleanser, some lovely greens with cucumber and carrots.

The beauty of a meal such as this one is not just the portion control. You also finish it entirely and instead of feeling lethargic and lazy to get back to the grind, one feels energised ready to get it! The other plate reviewed was a special order macaroni and seswaa combo. Which some patron attest to. The meal was well balanced with a coleslaw and fried spinach strips and a very tasty gravy.

My husband dug into this meal in silence and cleared his plate just as I had. The seswaa was delicately moist, as though cooked in a size 30 ko isong. The company does a lot of corporate and government catering and what to expand to service a lot more deserving palates.

Individuals are well taken care of as they have their curated meal delivered either to their work places or wherever convenient during the 12 noon to lunch time period.
