Narrating what transpired, No 20 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Meshack Pulenyane said the duo was putting on new trousers as they celebrated Botswana’s 56th Independence Day and an argument ensued as they debated on whose trousers looked better.

Pulenyane said the incident occurred at around 5pm at one of the friends’ yards in Tobane village.

“While arguing over who is wearing a 'nicer' pair of pants, it is alleged that the 29-year-old man ended up stabbing his 34-year-old male friend to death with a sharp object multiple times,” Pulenyane said.
