Mabophiwa said the suspect and the girlfriend, aged 22, went out partying at a local bar.

The girlfriend then found a new love interest at the same bar leaving with him. He said that the suspect then heard about their whereabouts and followed them. “When he arrived at the new lover’s place, he attacked them and beat them up with a wooden knobkerrie.

The male partner ran away.” Mabophiwa said the suspect then stabbed the victim three times. The victim is still in critical condition and is hospitalised at Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital.
