The deceased, who was initially found badly injured with a deep stab wound on his left rib side, succumbed to the injury on Saturday morning.

Confirming the matter, No 2 district officer commanding, Senior Superintendent Paul Oketsang said a bloody Okapi knife was found beside him. “We received the report around 10pm from a passerby who reported the matter to the police.

The Basimane ward native was then rushed to Letlhakane hospital where he succumbed to the injuries the following morning,” he explained. Oketsang added that through their preliminary investigations they managed to establish that before the stabbing incident, the deceased was involved in a misunderstanding with someone.

“We have since arrested the 22-year-old herder who resides at one of the cattle posts on the outskirts of Malatswai village. We established that the duo had initially had a misunderstanding with the deceased prior to the stabbing and he is currently in police custody helping the police with investigations,” he added.
