Confirming the incident, Letlhakane acting station commander Tsholofelo Masole said they have arrested two Batswana men in connection to the murder.

She said the incident took place during the night of the Independence Day celebrations at one of the bars in Letsibogo ward.

Masole stated that the Zimbabwean man, aged between 30 and 40, was allegedly stabbed in the fight with a sharp object suspected to be a knife.

“We are still investigating to see exactly what transpired and establish the relationship between the suspects and the deceased man.

It is not clear if the trio were friends and what exactly triggered the fight during their night out,” Masole added. She said that they were able to easily identify the deceased man's relatives because he was carrying his legal documents.

The two suspects will appear before Letlhakane Magistrate's Court today (Monday). Meanwhile, Masole said besides the murder incident, they had calm prevailing for most of the Independence celebrations as they registered minor incidents.

"Most of the cases are common assaults between friends and lovers during night outings registered in our policing area," she said.
