The matches were initially scheduled to take place on September 17 but were postponed to this past weekend. Both Notwane and Vipers came into the match having played four games each in the league and each having accumulated four points.
However, the Notwane ladies held the edge over their opponents because of a superior goal difference. Notwane had a goal difference of nine while Vipers had minus six. Notwane showed early intentions of chasing maximum points, dominating the Vipers ladies throughout the first quarter. At the end of the first quarter, Notwane were carrying a 15-8 lead.
When the second quarter of the game begun, they still proved to be the better side on the day and continued from where they left off in the first quarter. By the end of the second quarter, the score line was 25-19 in favour of Notwane. In the third quarter, Vipers pushed hard to try and close the gap and by the end of the quarter, Notwane were leading 41-39.
Vipers continued to push for a comeback in the last quarter but Notwane's resilience saw them win the last quarter by 47 to 41, which was also the full time score. The victory now means Notwane have collected a total of six points and remain in position three while Vipers also still remained at position four. The following game was the encounter between UB Crystals and Jwaneng.
Coming into the game, UB Crystals had accumulated three points from four games while Jwaneng had failed to collect even a single point from three matches and were sitting at the bottom the league table. UB Crystals were expected to dominate the Jwaneng side but surprisingly Jwaneng were at par with their UB opponents.
The highly contested first quarter ended with Jwaneng carrying a 10-7 lead. The second quarter was also evenly contested and at the end of it, both sides were tied at 16-16 score. The game proved to be an entertaining encounter as spectators could not really tell where the game would go even though they had previously thought it was going to be an easy match for UB Crystals.
The two teams got back into action for the last two quarters of the game and Jwaneng continued to prove to be the better one in the quarter over the UB ladies as Jwaneng won the third quarter 21-19.
The winner of the game was still not clear after the third quarter of the game and it was now up to the last quarter of the game to see who the conqueror of the game would be. In the last quarter, Jwaneng did not seem to slack down and stamped their authority by winning the match 26-22.
The win for Jwaneng over UB Crystals saw them collect their first two points in the league and moved above Prisons who were sitting on one point.
