Normally held in December, the event will for the first time take place earlier on September 29, 2022. The event coordinator, Robby Lekone also famed as DJ RNR, said the event will take place at the Maun Stadium.

He stated that unlike in the previous years where they invited one international artist and many locals, this year they decided to book many international artists to bring a new vibe to the event. However, he pointed out that they have booked 20 local musicians for the show. “I have decided to make the Independence Day special as the event would take place on the Eve of Independence. The idea is to have a music festival, which can attract people from different corners of this country and internationally. We have Makhadzi, Naak Musiq, Sdala B and Paige, Zanda Zakuza and Ngwazi as headliners of the event. There will also be local DJs in the likes of African Yard, Pekay, Cowboy, Maximum, Quan, Bee Kay, Zazi and Cheki. Our Emcees will be T.H.A.B.O, Mox and Kefus,” he said.

He further explained that they have used different social media platforms, street banners and as well as activations to market the event. He said the response has been massive. He added that his inspiration to host an event of such magnitude came from some of the biggest events like Tomorrowland and Coachella.

He also said he would like to see it as big as some of the local events such as Born and Raised. Tickets for the show are sold at P300 double, P200 standard, P300 at the gate, P400 golden circle and P1,000 VIP. They are sold at Spar outlets, Web Tickets and Maun Liquorama.
