Kups and Tyrozee team up

This time around the singer, who originates from Sefhare, has teamed up with Selebi-Phikwe based disco icon, Tyrozee. The pair will kick start their union with a show on Friday at the Town Hall and Sefhophe the next day.

The two say that their union is dedicated to Babirwa, Batswapong and Bakalaka who have been starving and craving for Kups' music. Tyrozee said this arrangement is necessary because Kups is now based in the southern region of the country yet the northern side wants him too. The duo, who will be holding shows along with Hellen Scotch and Bash and Capaccino, intend to tour Bobirwa, Tswapong and Bokalaka regions.

Kups said though he has been missing from the scene he has been releasing albums. After his first album, entitled Setswana se monate, he released Intshwarele and Mmapula, and the new one Tsala yame, will be released next month. Some of the new songs on this album will be played at the Friday show. The songs include Ngwanake, Lerato and title track Tsala yame in which he shares his life experiences.

He added that Setswana se monate album was done under contract with Bwasa Stars, while the next album was done with Kups and Express Musica.

He stated that though he has released three albums, his music has not been doing well on the market, hence his followers rarely hear of his music. 'I am working alone without a manager or a promoter so it is difficult to market my music and organise shows.'

Kups adds that he intends to step up his campaign to market his music, hence the partnership with Tyrozee.

'It will be our first show together and we expect a lot from it. I also intend to incorporate my two previous albums in a DVD and remarket it to my supporters. I used to rock but I hope I will be able to win back my followers.'

He adds that though his music has been scarce his home villagers have been enjoying it.

Tyrozee on the other hand maintains that he is going up the ladder in the music industry.'Our union should work to our mutual benefit as we will be supporting each other's shows. Next month we will be touring Kalanga villages because Kups enjoys immense support there. His name is always on everyone's lips, which is why people are eager to see him again,' he said.
