Wanted rape suspect arrested for drug possession

According to Letlhakane Police Station commander, Superintendent Michael Maphephu said the young man was arrested on Friday after being found in possession of 12 sachets of a green substance suspected to be dagga.
He said that the suspect was wanted for a different matter of defilement. He shared that the 22-year-old man has been on the run since Thursday after allegedly defiling his 17-year-old friend.
The incident took place at Tawana ward. Maphephu indicated that the suspect was arrested at his parent’s house in Tawana and a search was conducted leading to the discovery of the substance. “We are taking the matter seriously as it appears like he is trading in dagga,” said the Letlhakane station commander. Investigations on this matter are ongoing.
