He told The Monitor that the incident took place on Saturday at around 10:05pm at Sefalana Shoppers, Old Mall in Palapye Central. According to Oketsang, the thieves used the rooftop to gain entry into the shop.

They broke in and stole 200 packets of Peter Stuyvesant cigarettes, 50 okapi knives, 80 one-litre yoghurts, and two 1kg sausages, he added.

He said: “Other items amount to P7,845 which gives a total of P27,845 for all the stolen goods.” Oketsang indicated that the suspects wanted to blast the office to gain access to the safe box but failed and decided to steal the above-mentioned goods. He said that the suspects are still at large and pleaded with the community to help them with information relating to the matter.

“This is a massive drawback to the owners of the business, therefore if you see anyone selling the above-mentioned goods in large and small amounts without proof of purchase please contact us,” he said.
