The song's lyrics are in Setswana to accommodate all her followers. Ivon, as the talented singer is known in the music industry, made her musical breakthrough in 2017 after making it to the Top 12 of My Star, a singing competition that aired on Btv every Sunday. She would later on get signed by renowned music producer Suffocate after being recommended by a good friend. While the Tonota native has been on a break, she has announced her return to music with a song that could endear her to music lovers.

“Mogolokwane is a celebratory song with a dash of Borankana. I just felt to release something that would make people feel good and lift their spirits whenever they are experiencing low mood,” she said. Ivon also stated that she worked with Oratile from Khoisan, Suffocate as the producer while Gideon constructed the chords for the song. She said she is also satisfied with the team she is working with in terms of branding and marketing the song. Mogolokwane is a vernacular term that simply translates to mean ululating.

The song could be played in any traditional celebration event. Ivon explained that she has improved significantly after her previous projects. “Back then I was not pushed that much. Right now things are on the right track. Vocally, I feel there is improvement and maturity.

To be honest with you I can't complain about anything,” she added. The song is already making rounds on social media and radio stations and it is getting frequent requests. Ivon further alluded that currently it is on Yarona FM Top 20, RB2 Top 40 and its making waves on other radio stations. “I want to say thank you to the people who follow me.

I do not want to call them fans (because) I feel they deserve a better word than that. They played a big role in me being me right now. They believe in me and they push me to be better in a way to provide for them with quality good music,” she said.
