In the early hours of the morning on Thursday, the newly revamped Eureka Cash and Carry Store was officially opened by the minister of trade and investments Mmusi Kgafela.

Kgafela at the revamp of the store talked about how “this is an exciting moment, an endeavor, as it endorses all that our government represents as it is a perfect response to His Excellency's President Masisi's call for citizens to proudly and fully engage, and participate in the economy of their country”.

The minister appreciated what the Trident Eureka company has been doing all over the past years as the company has helped in creating employment in the country, as the company now has 7 franchised stores in the country, and some of the franchised stores is Saverite Supermarket. The companies have employed more and more people over the years with Saverite having the number of employees standing at 1 060 currently. Kgafela hopes this shall encourage entrepreneurial culture within the fellow citizens.

During the tour of the newly revamped store after the minister had officially cut the ribbon to officially open the shop for the customers, the minister urged Eureka company to support more local businesses as to help promote citizen empowerment in the country, so that more people can be able to fend for themselves. This was said by the minister when he had just recognized on his tour of the store that the Lucky Star brand was stocked in bulk compared to the locally produced brand Senn Foods, and thus that led to him encouraging the Eureka management to work more with local companies especially the Senn Foods brand as “they are the only one in the country who have a plant, and the plant is being put to very little use because of the less number of placement of orders as more wholesalers, and stores work more with Lucky Star instead of them yet they are locally based company that has a plant in the country,” he said.

One customer who was one the first customers at the newly opened revamped store talked about how this is really a great initiative that was being brought to them, as it now makes things easier for them and things are now really convenient for them since they can now access a wholesaler and a walk in store for customers at the same time, and purchase anything that they won.
