GU this week announced the signing of Cooper on a one-year deal with the player joining as a free agent. The midfielder was last on the books of Moroccan top-flight side, Mouloudia Club of Oujda (MOujdaja) where he left after a brief six-month stay.

Cooper also played for the Zambian side, Lusaka Dynamos while Rollers were the last local team he featured for.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to South Africa, but the Reds were quick to tie him for the next season. Moyagoleele is beefing its squad as the club returns to continental football after almost a decade absence.

The Reds will be retaining the services of midfield hardman, Lebogang Ditsele after he failed to impress Sekhukhune United in South Africa.

Ditsele was invited for a week-long assessment at the Gauteng-based side after his exploits at the recently ended COSAFA Cup. Meanwhile at cross-town rivals, Rollers’ captain, Maano Ditshupo has announced he is leaving the club after a 10-year stay.

The midfielder announced his departure through his Facebook page yesterday with a heartfelt message to the fans. He is said to be on Masitaoka’s wishlist.

Another Rollers’ midfielder, Kutlwelo Mpolokang has returned to Jwaneng Galaxy while Popa are set to part ways with Thabang Khuduga. Khuduga had an impressive championship-winning season on loan at Holy Ghost, earning himself a maiden Zebras call-up.

Ofentse Nato, Mmoloki Kebalepile, Brian Mankanku, Keeagile Kgosipula, and Kitso Mpuisang are said to be on the Rollers’ exit list after being deemed surplus to requirements. Popa have, meanwhile, not made a public announcement of their winter transfer marquee signing, Mogakolodi ‘Tsotso’ Ngele. The forward is said to be training with the team and an announcement is imminent. Galaxy have this week announced the signings of Gunners’ top goal-scorer, Kabelo Babusi, Karabo Gaolaolwe from Security Systems and Allen Ndodole from Orapa United.

Zebras’ assistant coach, Michael Mogaladi has become the first causality ahead of the start of the new season after Masitaoka sacked him. Mogaladi had joined Majatlhaga earlier this year and had only been in charge for eight games.

The club has gone on another major shakeup, parting ways with a number of key players including striker, Patrick Kaunda.

Majatlhaga have signed youth international, Gabriel Van-Neel, Babedi Nchoko, GU product, Tumelo Meshack, Kutlo Molelowamodimo from Mahalapye Railway Highlanders, former Gilport Lions captain, Obakeng Ramotlhwa, and Gorata Bogale. The league is scheduled to start on September 4.
