The South African co-accused is yet to be identified, as he is unconscious and incapacitated to give up his details.

The duo was injured while attempting to rob a Security Systems cash-in-transit vehicle a week ago near Riverwalk Mall.

“The duo is recuperating and is still hospitalised at PMH,” Director of Crime Intelligence, Nunu Lesetedi told The Monitor.

“The other three co-accused, being the other notorious Motswana armed robber Mogomotsi Thupane and two South Africans, Sipho Mathangana and Jabu Shabangu, were arraigned before Extension II Magistrate’s Court on Friday facing two counts of unlawful possession of arms and ammunitions and motor vehicle theft.

The two South Africans are also faced with another offence of entering Botswana through an ungazetted point of entry,” he added.

During the robbery, the suspects were driving a Toyota Wish alleged to have been stolen at Mmopane Block 1 on June 15 and were also found in possession of an AK47 rifle, three pistols and ammunition.
