The duo had been asked to show cause why additional charges may not be added to the existing ones.

A letter dated July 8, 2022, written by Programmes Manager, Tshepo Garethata, stated: “On or about Thursday, July 2022, you transmitted an electronic mail (email) to the secretary-general of the society in which you allegedly made wide-ranging accusations and imputing lack of integrity and impropriety on the person of the secretary-general which conduct, viewed objectively, falls short of the standards expected by the society of someone in your position particularly whilst under suspension and awaiting a disciplinary hearing.

“It is alleged that some of the statements and/or allegations made by you in the aforesaid e-mails are, amongst others, (one) that the secretary-general is the one who spearheaded the charges preferred against you by the society and therefore that the disciplinary process is nothing but a sham and witch-hunt and that (two) the secretary-general is so corrupt and has previously been involved in fraudulent and criminal activities.”

The letter further stated that the allegations against the two employees are tantamount to undermining the integrity and priority of the well-established policies and codes of the society.

When contacted for comment on the matter the secretary-general Kutlwano Mukokomani, who is also the chief executive officer of the organisation, said he was currently outside the country.

He, however, said he was notified about an ongoing internal disciplinary process that involves two employees.

Mukokomani highlighted that he did not know the details of the matter, but he hoped to get more information upon his arrival.

In addition, he said the society has transparent and fair internal disciplinary processes just like other organisations.
