In a recent press briefing, the founder and event coordinator Tebogo Kgaodi said they hosted a number of shows in Gaborone previously but they found it important to take their events to remote areas so that children and adults there could also enjoy what those in the cities and surrounding areas enjoy.

He added that the event will also benefit locals, as 85% of residents will be sold stalls that will generate income for them and their families. “This event is meant to bring change to residents from Maboane and nearby villages such as Lotlhakane.

Everyone will benefit from it.

If you look closely at our line-up, you will realise that most of our artists are Bakgalagadi. We strive to also give upcoming artists from that region exposure. We even brought in Prince Charlie, a very talented photographer from that region on board,” he said.

“We have also been able to identify challenges from the village. We realised that one has to buy a simcard or even replace it at a nearby village, which is Molepolole.

That is why we called different companies to come and bring their services to the people. Many people there are herdsmen and do not know anything about saving and do not even have bank accounts so we invited a bank to bring its services to people and teach them the importance of saving.

We will also have COSBOTS on board so that they can teach upcoming artists about the importance of registering with them,” he further said. He added that gates will be open from morning until 7pm for children.

Kgaodi encouraged parents to bring their children along so that they could have fun with others. He said they would have family fun activities such as quad bikes, tag of war, fitness and team building games, five aside football, horse riding and face painting amongst others.

Since Wayguard Security sponsors the event, the sales and marketing at the security Moatlhodi Kebaitse said they will beef up security. He encouraged people to come in numbers assuring them that their security will make sure they and their valuables are safe.

He added that they would also have VIP toilets. “We have great experience in security services. Our security company started in 1975. It is the oldest security company in the country. With us you will never go wrong so you don’t have anything to worry about. Just come in numbers and enjoy yourselves while we take care of you and your valuable,” he said. For his part, one of the country’s music legends, Ashly Gops who will be taking care of the artists and also performing at the event, promised guests that they will be in good hands.

He added that he was honoured to be part of the show since it would bring change to his people. Artists that will partake at the event include Ded-coh, Skelem Key Family, Figos, Motlha, Machesa, DJ Mximbi, MC Nmaga, Tumza and Koolkat.

Dress code is military wear. The event will be on July 30, 2022 at Paw Paw Farm. Tents are also available for bookings. Tickets are sold at P150 early bird, P200 single and P380 double.
