Though the police have not confirmed the arrest, The Monitor has learnt that a fourth suspect in the matter was allegedly arrested on Sunday morning at a certain Hotel in Mahalapye where he was supposedly lodging for a few days.

The Monitor reached the Hotel by phone and a woman on the other end of the line could not deny nor confirm the arrest stating that she had just reported for duty that Sunday. She told The Monitor she was not briefed about the incident upon reporting for duty.

However, the woman told this publication to have picked up on the same unconfirmed report. Towards the end of the call, another woman yelled in the background: “A reng, a re ke mmega dikgang? O dirile sentle wa seka wa mmolelela, ba batla go kwala ka rona." There was incessant murmuring in the background before the woman realised that she had not hung up the phone.

On Saturday, in a media release, the Botswana Police Service public relations officer, senior superintendent Near Bagali, confirmed the police made a breakthrough in the matter with the arrest of three suspects, two men aged 45 and 49, both from Kopong and a 42-year-old woman of Metsimotlhabe.
