Body shaming births Get Young Again products

For Portia Tlhalerwa, her friends and people close to her ridiculed her for her body shaming and it was not easy. While to some, the experience would have ended with a sad story, Tlhalerwa decided to use the experience as motivation.
The mother of two found ways to lose weight, which finally set her on the path to find her secret organic ingredients that made her lose weight and gain her confidence back. It is safe to say that became the birth of her slimming products business dubbed Get Young Again. “The Body shaming I got from friends and people close to me is the main inspiration behind Get Young Again. After all the body shaming and loss of confidence, I just sat down and thought of how I could overcome all of that.
I went into YouTube and I did a lot of research on weight loss. I came across a lot of ways to lose weight and then I chose to go with the healthy way to lose weight. I prayed on it and slept on the idea for the next day to give God time to intervene on my weight loss journey,” she told Art & Culture.
She explained that she later chose to go for the organic way of weight loss.
Tlhalerwa said her products were made out of organic herbs only. She pointed out that even though her products were meant for weight loss, they also had other health benefits like period pains cure, healed fibroids, heart palpitations, helped people with high blood pressure, cleared skin and many more benefits. She, however, stated that her products do not heal all the mentioned health problems but made them better.
To put her clients at ease, she explained that she is also holding documents permitting sales of her products and the Ministry of Health has approved her organic herbs. She said she was so far happy with the response of the public who also were happy of the fast results they got from her herbs.
She added that most of her clients had pointed out that they did not only benefit from weight loss but also had more health benefits. “Our business is located in Railpark mall by the stalls by Puma Fueling Station just next to The Shoe Fix Shop inside Hairlane Salon.
Our only challenge is the in prices in purchasing our stock, packaging and branding but at the end we manage to pull through. We are so far happy with the support we get from our clients and run our business on a day at a time,” she said.
Moreover, she explained that her dream is to see her product being international and mostly supplying the Ministry of Health with their products for patients with obesity or those forced to lose weight by health issues.
She added that their products help deal with diseases associated with weight gain. Currently, they have two kinds of products namely; slimming bottled tea that targets the whole body fats in a 352 milliliters sold at P187 and Tummy Trimmer herbs packaged in a 291 milliliters sold at P200.
